Every build is different, but the right information makes all the difference. Here are answers to the most common questions we get from Jeep owners looking to do it properly.
FAQ'S
About Powerhouse Jeeps
When was Powerhouse Jeeps established?
Powerhouse Jeeps Inc. was established in 2020, built on over 35 years of engine-building experience. Before launching Powerhouse Jeeps, our lead builder owned and operated Speedway Corvettes — where precision, reliability, and performance were the standard. That same experience drives every build today. The name may be newer, but the methods, craftsmanship, and attention to detail are proven through decades of real-world work. This isn’t a startup — it’s a refined approach, now focused entirely on Jeep engines and driveline systems.
What does Powerhouse Jeeps do?
Yes — we stay active in the Jeep community year-round. Powerhouse Jeeps attends events like Great American Crawl across the United States, connecting with Jeep owners and off-road enthusiasts. Follow us on Instagram to stay up to date.

Planning Your Build
Do you need an appointment?
Yes. All work is by appointment only so each build can be properly planned and executed.
Can I get a quote online?
We can provide general pricing, but accurate quotes require understanding your vehicle and goals. Every build is different — we do not guess.
Engine Builds
How long does an engine build take?
Most engine builds are completed within 1–2 weeks once scheduled.
We focus on doing it right, not rushing the process.
Do your engine builds come with a warranty?
Yes. All engine rebuilds include a workmanship warranty. Parts are covered under their respective manufacturers.
Can I supply my own parts?
We use proven components we trust. Customer-supplied parts are not recommended, as they can affect reliability and overall build quality.
Do you build engines for shipping?
Yes. We build and ship engines across North America.
Core deposits may apply and are refunded after inspection of your original engine.
ECM Tuning & Performance
Is ECU tuning required with an engine rebuild?
ECU tuning is strongly recommended with all engine builds. Proper calibration ensures fueling, ignition timing, throttle response, and drivability are correct for the setup. Tuning is part of the system — not an afterthought.
Is the tune custom or preloaded?
All Powerhouse Jeeps tunes are custom and vehicle-specific. No generic files or one-size-fits-all calibrations are used. Each tune is developed based on your engine build, supporting modifications, and intended use.
What performance gains can I expect?
Results vary depending on the engine package and vehicle setup, but most customers experience: Improved throttle response Stronger torque delivery Smoother idle and drivability Better overall engine behavior Our focus is usable, reliable power, not unsafe peak numbers.
Can you tune my Jeep if it has modifications?
Yes. We support common modifications including intake, exhaust, gearing changes, and internal engine upgrades.
All modifications should be disclosed beforehand.
Is tuning available without an engine build?
Yes. Standalone tuning is available for supported platforms.
However, tuning is most effective when paired with a properly built engine and supporting systems.
ECM Tuning & Performance
When should I regear my Jeep?
If you’ve increased tire size or lost power, regearing is often required to restore performance, drivability, and proper load handling.
What gear ratio is right for my setup?
That depends on tire size, drivetrain, and intended use. We recommend ratios based on real-world performance, not guesswork.
How long does a regear take?
Most regearing jobs are completed within 1–2 days depending on the setup.
Shipping & Logistics
Do you ship engines?
Yes. We ship across North America. Shipping rates are billed seperatly.
Are import duties included?
No. Duties, taxes, and tariffs are the customer’s responsibility and are not included in quoted or invoiced pricing.
Payment & Process
What payment methods do you accept?
Cash, E-Transfer, Debit, and Credit.
Is a deposit required?
Yes. A 50% deposit is required to schedule and begin work. Special order items are required to be paid in full prior to ordering.
Is diagnostic work billable?
Yes. Diagnostic time, including disassembly and inspection, is billable regardless of whether repairs proceed.
