When was Powerhouse Jeeps established?
Powerhouse Jeeps Inc. was established in 2020, backed by over 35 years of engine-building experience. Before founding Powerhouse Jeeps, our lead engine builder owned and operated Speedway Corvettes, where precision machining, performance, and reliability were the foundation of every build. Today, we bring that same experience and craftsmanship to Jeep engines and driveline systems.
What does Powerhouse Jeeps specialize in?
Powerhouse Jeeps specializes in complete engine rebuilding, differential rebuilding and regearing, axle and driveshaft services, diagnostics, and custom ECM tuning. With over 35 years of engine-building experience, our focus is precision workmanship, reliability, and performance.
Does Powerhouse Jeeps participate in off-road events?

Appointments & Estimates
Do you need an appointment?
Yes. Powerhouse Jeeps operates by appointment only, allowing us to properly assess, schedule, and dedicate the necessary time to each engine build, driveline repair, or diagnostic service.
Can I get a quote online?
Yes. We can provide estimates based on your vehicle's details and the work required. Final pricing may vary depending on vehicle condition, diagnostic findings, and any additional repairs identified.
Engine Builds
How long does an engine build take?
Most engine rebuilds are completed within 1–2 weeks once scheduled, depending on parts availability and machining requirements. Installation timelines are confirmed separately.
Can I install a rebuilt engine myself?
No. Due to previous issues involving improper installations, Powerhouse Jeeps no longer permits customer self-installations. All complete rebuilt engines must be installed by Powerhouse Jeeps or an approved installation facility to ensure proper installation, engine priming, initial start-up, and testing procedures.
Can my local repair shop install my rebuilt engine?
Yes, provided the repair facility has been approved by Powerhouse Jeeps prior to installation. Approved facilities must follow our specified installation, engine priming, fluid, and initial start-up procedures.
Do your engine builds come with a warranty?
Yes. Our complete engine rebuilds include a one-year workmanship warranty. Parts are covered under their respective manufacturers' warranties.
Installation workmanship is covered separately and depends on whether installation is performed by Powerhouse Jeeps or an approved installation facility. Please refer to our Engine Rebuild Warranty for full terms and conditions.
Can I supply my own parts?
We use carefully selected, proven components that meet our engine-building standards. Customer-supplied internal engine components are not accepted unless specifically approved by Powerhouse Jeeps in advance.
Do you build engines for shipping?
Yes. We build and ship complete rebuilt engines. All shipped engines must be installed by a Powerhouse Jeeps-approved installation facility. Core deposits and shipping charges are additional.
ECM Tuning & Performance
Is ECU tuning required with an engine rebuild?
Not always. Tuning requirements depend on the engine build and vehicle configuration. Custom ECM tuning is available when required to optimize engine performance, drivability, and responsiveness.
Are your ECM tunes custom or preloaded?
Our ECM tunes are custom-developed for each vehicle based on its engine configuration, drivetrain setup, and intended use. We focus on reliable performance and drivability rather than generic, one-size-fits-all calibrations.
What performance gains can I expect from ECM tuning?
Results vary depending on engine configuration and vehicle setup. Custom ECM tuning can improve throttle response, torque delivery, drivability, and overall engine performance. Our focus is reliable, usable power rather than exaggerated horsepower claims.
Can you tune my Jeep if it has modifications?
Yes. We offer custom ECM tuning for supported vehicles with engine and drivetrain modifications, including internal engine upgrades and gearing changes. All modifications must be disclosed before tuning.
Is tuning available without an engine build?
Yes. Powerhouse Jeeps offers standalone custom ECM tuning for supported Jeep platforms. Contact us with your vehicle details to discuss available tuning options.
Regearing & Differentials
When should I regear my Jeep?
Regearing is often recommended when increasing tire size or experiencing reduced acceleration, poor drivability, or excessive strain on the drivetrain. Proper gearing helps restore performance, improve power delivery, and maintain efficient drivetrain operation.
What gear ratio is right for my Jeep?
The ideal gear ratio depends on tire size, engine, transmission, vehicle weight, and intended use. We evaluate your drivetrain configuration to recommend the best balance of performance, drivability, and reliability.
How long does a regear take?
Most differential regearing services are completed within 1–2 business days, depending on axle configuration, component availability, and any additional repairs required.
Do you rebuild differentials or only perform regearing?
Yes. In addition to regearing, Powerhouse Jeeps specializes in complete differential rebuilding, including bearing and seal replacement, carrier setup, gear installation, and precision adjustment of backlash, preload, and gear contact patterns.
Do you install differential lockers?
Yes. We install and set up selectable and automatic differential lockers. Proper installation and precise differential setup are essential for reliable operation and improved traction in demanding conditions.
Shipping & Logistics
Do you ship engines?
Yes. We ship complete rebuilt engines. All shipped engines must be installed by a Powerhouse Jeeps-approved installation facility. Shipping charges and applicable core deposits are additional.
Are import duties included?
No. Import duties, tariffs, brokerage fees, and applicable taxes are the customer's responsibility and are not included in quoted pricing unless otherwise specified.
Payment & Process
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, Interac e-Transfer, debit, major credit cards, and Wippy Pay.
Is a deposit required?
Yes. A 50% deposit is required to schedule and begin engine rebuilds and major repair projects. Special-order components must be paid in full before ordering.
Is diagnostic work billable?
Yes. Diagnostic services, including testing, inspection, and any required disassembly, are billable regardless of whether repairs are authorized or completed.
